Such is my life. . .

I knew I would not be able to get back to posting again for a couple days. Here I am now. :-)

The 4th of July did not exactly turn out the way I had planned, but as long as the good Lord is willing we are planning the cookout for my daughter, Lauren's 18th birthday; so the celebrations continue!

The firework show wasn't as spectacular as we expected, but what did I expect from this little town of almost 6,000. Below are some photos I managed to take before my camera battery died. They turned out better than the previous pic on my first posting.

July 4th, 2009

What better time to start a blog. . . Independence Day, at 1:00 a.m.! Today is a big celebration here. We will have a little cookout and picnic in the backyard. We also go to the County Park and watch a big fireworks display at dark. Last year it was cancelled due to weather, so this year it is supposed to be twice as nice!
I was told last night by my youngest daughter that last year she enjoyed the 4th of July. We ate BBQ ribs outside in the backyard on a blanket. It can't get much simpler than that. Ah, the simple peasures. . . just make a little effort and the kids are happy. :-) Love it!


I better go to bed so I can plan in the morning for a little fun tomorrow.
